It worked for DJO, a.k.a. Joe Keery a.k.a. Steve Harrington from Stranger Things, with "End of Beginning" becoming one of last year's BIGGEST songs - so why not KJ Apa a.k.a Archie Andrews of Riverdale?
Being a triple threat in the entertainment industry can be a gift and a curse because you can be booked and busy one year and sitting by the phone the next.
Most who can seemingly do it ALL (i.e. sing, dance and act) are more known by the public for one discipline over the others and / or struggle to pivot.
That's...showbiz?
Anyway, a new wave of actors turned musicians are entering the arena and KJ Apa is no exception, putting the fun in fundamentally vibe-driven music that doesn't take itself too seriously and that's exactly the point.
Meet Mr. Fantasy:
He's the alter-ego of KJ Apa and he's literally so chill.
It's funny because KJ is known on social media for being very playful and goofy so this new character does NOT come as a surprise to me!
Donning a wig, fake teeth and bright-coloured clothes, Mr. Fantasy gives 1980s vibes of feeling good, looking cool and most importantly having a laugh.

FYI, KJ Apa actually released some music under his own name, which was guitar led, emotionally-charged and underground sounding, whereas Mr. Fantasy is alive, kicking and attention-grabbing synthpop.
So all in all, KJ Apa is living out his own real life fantasy and I'm totally here for it! Can't wait to see what Mr. Fantasy does next...
